The family-run Caledonian Bar, part of Iona Pub Partnership, recently reopened its doors following a £15k refurbishment project.
The pub has been completely transformed with new signage, furniture and light fittings throughout.
David and Laura Barnett, who this month are celebrating their second year anniversary of running The Caledonian Bar, said “We wanted the new look to provide guests with a cosy pub where they can enjoy a few drinks after their busy day, settle with some live music or simply to relax with their four-legged friends and read the Sunday paper. We absolutely love it and hope all of our regulars and first-timers are equally as impressed.”
Michael Thomas is Iona Pub Partnership’s Ops Director and recently visited to congratulate David and Laura with a bottle of Champagne. He said: “The guys have done an absolutely fantastic job in transforming the pub since they took it on in 2017. The difference they’ve made is night and day and I can’t wait to see how this refurbishment further helps them build the business.”
Situated on the city’s busy High Street, David added: “Because the pub has now been painted outside I think it has created a lot of interest and is drawing more people in.
“Our new Scottish tapas menu will be launching in the coming weeks which will use a lot of locally sourced produce so we know the quality will be second to none. We’re hoping the new menu will be perfect for a quick bite and ideal to complement any of our live events throughout the year.”
